Midwestern girls are always the wildest ones, aren’t they? Dianne Wiest is no exception! This lovely lady originally hails from Kansas City where the Missouri minx was raised by her Scottish mother and social worker father. She had a pretty normal upbringing, but she longed for something more exciting. The 5’5″ vixen got bitten by the stage bug as a young lady and quickly starting working on Broadway before making her film debut in 1980 as Gail in It’s My Turn. It was definitely her turn to shine because she did not stop working in movies and TV shows after that. She has also starred in Woody Allen films like The Purple Rose of Cairo, Bullets Over Broadway (which earned her an Oscar nomination), and Hannah and Her Sisters. From there she has starred in The Lost Boys (1987), The Birdcage (1996), Edward Scissorhands (1990), I Am Sam (2001), Ron Howard’s Parenthood (1989), and Practical Magic (1998). She cast a spell on us in her 1994 role in the comedy Cops & Robbersons where she plays a lovely suburban wife who lives next door to a criminal. Cops move in with her family to stake out their criminal neighbor, but hilarity ensues when she eagerly tries to help out. In one scene, the cop is showering and she assumes it’s her husband in there. She steps into the shower where he drops the soap. Whoops! They touch bums as they bend over, but Dianne is using a butt double. If only we could see the real thing.
